The follow-up process may be frustrating at times…sometimes we find ourselves “chasing” the prospect instead of putting them into the waiting room. Some networkers get TOO wrapped up in prospects that “procrastinate” versus the one’s who “participate” and you need to DECIDE where you fit in this part of the game.
The FIRST 30 days of FOLLOW-UP:
Be very aggressive. You may have to call a few times, leave 3-4 messages, ignite the autorespnder, and send out some information…. ETC.
Understand that some prospects will NOT respond at all in the first 30 days and some NEVER respond.
Do your best, do your job as a well-paid messenger and SEE it through!
FOLLOW your SYSTEM! About five years ago, I remember calling a lead from CEM and the gentleman was very sharp…I mean a successful networker and seriously looking to work with me. We talked a few times in the first month and I thought for sure he was coming aboard! Well, it turns out we did not SPEAK again for almost TWO years. He told me because I “kept” in touch, he wanted to work with no one else but me. Guess what happened?
He earned over $100,000 in his first six months. ( We were happy too…;))
My point? You never know when the TIME is right for your prospect…you never know how long it will take for your prospects to DECIDE.
Take a look at how this works: The WAITING Room PHILOSOPHY… Before we discuss this philosophy, understand that this is for your prospects that have not joined in the first 30 days of exposures. Information on your opportunity…maybe your company has a big contest, a new product or service, new money…etc.
Remember the KEY is to OPEN the DOOR, deliver the MESSAGE and than you must SHUT the door.
Some call this the DRIP process. When you DRIP, you stay FOCUSED on the NEW prospect, the FRESH lead. You will find leaders using the “waiting room” philosophy because they UNDERSTAND many of their prospects
are NOT ready to join TODAY.
AMAZING! Every once in awhile, a prospect decides to COME out of the waiting room.
You may have DRIPPED on them at the right time, and now they are READY to JOIN. TIMING is everything. The bottom line is that you can’t afford to waste your time with people that are NOT making decisions. You need to spend your time with the ones who WILL make a decision. This is good time management. Once you understand and more importantly USE this philosophy, you begin to work smarter and allow the sorting process to take place. You are no longer frustrated. You become “fascinated” with the process and enjoy hearing a knock or two every month. TRY this out for a month or two and I promise
